35" Dark Brown Modular Ottoman with Oak Base (OA-1033-20) by Moe's Home Collection image
35" Dark Brown Modular Ottoman with Oak Base Sale price$769.00 USD Regular price$1,010.00 USD

Description

Dark Brown Upholstered Ottoman with Oak Veneer Platform Base | 35 Inch | Ottoman

The ottoman module shares the system's material language: dark brown polyester, oak veneer platform base, feather and foam fill, at a height well below the seating pieces. At 16.5 inches the surface sits below the sofa seat at 30 inches, reading as a footrest at the adjacent seating position or a low cushioned surface at the room's seating zone. The 35 by 40 footprint matches the depth of the seating modules, making the ottoman read as a continuous ground-plane element when positioned at the end or front of a modular arrangement.

At 35 wide and 40 deep the ottoman is a substantial rectangular cushioned surface, adequate for two feet side by side, for use as a low object in the seating zone, or as a tray-accessible surface when a firm board is placed on the cushion top. The oak veneer base provides the structural perimeter at the floor, reading as the same warm wood border present throughout the system's pieces. As a standalone piece it reads as a low, rectangular upholstered block at the seating level, understated and resolved.

The practical use range: footrest at a sofa or lounge chair, overflow casual seating at a low position, or a secondary coffee-table surface. The dark brown and oak veneer match the other system components for full cohesion in a modular arrangement, but the piece reads cleanly as a standalone object as well. At 53.5 pounds it repositions easily by one person.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
