Same full-L configuration as the oatmeal Classic L -- three sofa modules along the horizontal spine, corner sofa module at the junction, additional seating along the return arm, ruched gathered back at each seam junction across the complete L -- in warm taupe polyester. At 339.2 pounds and 118 by 118 inches this is the most complete and the most substantial of the Matina sectional configurations, now in the grey-tan tone that reads with more visual grounding than the oatmeal.
In taupe the full-L back reads as a settled warm mass wrapping the seating zone on two planes. The ruched back points in taupe show slight shadow relief at each gather; the back turns at the corner module with the ruched cluster resolving the 90-degree direction change. From either arm looking toward the corner the back runs to the junction point and turns, enclosing the seating position on both sides.
The arm bolster at the outer end of the horizontal spine caps the configuration in the same soft organic quality as the rest of the series. At 339.2 pounds and the combined 118 x 118-inch footprint, advance planning of delivery path, room layout, and permanent position is required before ordering.

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
