Reclaimed oak gives this extendable dining table its whole personality. The grain and natural character vary across the top, so each table comes out a little different, and the natural tone sits easily in an open kitchen or a dining room with lighter walls. The design stays minimal on purpose: a plain rectangular top on simple lines, which leaves the oak to carry the room.
Two 16-inch leaves take the rectangular dining table from 84 to 100 to 116 inches long, so it can stay compact most of the week and open up when the room fills. Like any solid wood, the oak will keep moving with temperature and humidity changes, and cracks or uneven surfaces can appear over time. That movement is part of its character.
