Curator's Observations: Bamboo grain reads differently than wood grain. Linear, fine, and consistent in a way that works particularly well in rooms built around clean lines and natural texture. Two production methods. Both solid throughout.
The Classic collections use solid strips of the bamboo culm. In some lines, the bamboo is steamed to produce the warm caramelized color naturally, through heat chemistry applied to the bamboo sugars rather than any stain or dye. The Exotic collections use a denser compression process that produces a grain pattern resembling tropical hardwood, with greater uniformity and depth.
Finish options: Caramelized, Sable, Amber, Black Walnut, Wheat, Caviar, and Exotic Tiger. Warm honey tones, deep reddish-brown finishes, near-black contemporary options, and the high-contrast light-and-dark pattern of the Tiger.
Curator's Observations: The Sable and Black Walnut finishes are the ones we use most at AURA. In rooms with darker walls or moodier palettes, the bamboo grain reads with more depth and presence than it does in bright light. The material earns it.
