The Ansley Brown Collection is furniture by the home furnishings designer Ansley Brown, and it does its strongest work low and in the center of a living room. Uttermost credits Ansley Brown as the designer of each piece below. Burl and white marble carry the weight; reeded wood and brass do the quieter work at the edges.
Ansley Brown furniture begins at the coffee table
Most tables in the Ansley Brown Collection are round, 38 to 40 inches across and 16 or 17 inches high, so chairs can pull in from any side. Size it to the sofa, not the rug: a 38 inch round suits a compact sofa or two chairs. Uttermost produces them, alongside its wider line of Uttermost furniture.
Ansley Brown coffee tables in burl
Burl takes the collection darker, on a round table and a tiered 54 inch rectangle. Under a warm lamp the figure deepens. Keep the rug quiet beside it, or two patterns fight at knee height and the burl loses.
Ansley Brown coffee tables in marble, oak and travertine
White marble on a brass frame throws lamplight back into the room, and a 52 inch marble rectangle on reeded wood suits a longer sofa. The oak and travertine rounds stay calmer, closer to Organic Modern. For other sizes, browse our round and rectangular modern coffee tables.
Reeded wood and white marble on Ansley Brown sideboards
The 72 inch sideboard runs reeded alder under a white marble top. Reeding breaks a long case into vertical lines of shadow, so it reads lighter than its width. Its 20 inch depth needs a clear walkway, the same check as for any of our long credenza cabinets. The mappa burl version on brass legs leans Old Money and Vintage.
The Ansley Brown mirror above it
The 28 by 40 inch mirror has a light natural reeded frame with brass corners. Over the brown sideboard the tones will not match. Let them differ. The reeding carries the relationship.
Who is Ansley Brown, the home furnishings designer?
Ansley Brown is the designer Uttermost credits for these pieces in its product data. We have no biography to add. For another designer on AURA, see Jim Parsons furniture.
Brass on Ansley Brown tables, mirrors and sideboards
The metals differ. The burl round uses antique brass, the tiered burl table stands on dark bronze, and a 12 inch white marble drink table, small enough to sit beside a reading chair, joins its marble to brass. Before pairing anything here with Story Woolson furniture, compare the metals under a lamp.
Pick the coffee table first. The sideboard and mirror can follow its wood, or argue with it.
