What does modern Art Deco look like?

Modern Art Deco looks like edited Deco: strong geometric silhouettes and polished materials, but built around one glamorous focal point instead of wall-to-wall ornament. A contemporary Deco room might use a fluted cabinet or a curved velvet sofa as its anchor, add brass, smoke glass, or a mirrored surface for controlled shine, and then leave enough quiet for that anchor to register. The palette has broadened well past black and gold into walnut, oxblood, olive, bronze, charcoal, and cream, and reflective finishes are deliberately mixed with matte plaster, wool, and linen so the room reads warm rather than cold. The defining move is restraint. Modern Deco treats glamour as a relationship between form, light, and negative space, not as a quantity of gold. The result feels composed and current, closer to a moody luxury interior than a 1920s period set.

This is the version AURA builds toward. When you shop art deco furniture with us, the pieces are made to anchor exactly this kind of edited, modern room rather than a costume of the era.
