Description

Stripe Upholstered Seat Dining Chair with Oak Rail Back and Natural Frame | 30 Inch | Dining Chair

Same minimal oak rail-back form -- pale natural oak frame, exposed wood back rails, a single upholstered seat cushion -- with a narrow vertical stripe fabric. The stripe is a ticking-style pattern: fine alternating vertical lines in warm cream and pale neutral, the stripe subtle enough to read from across the dining room as a near-neutral warm-pale fabric and revealing its linear character at close range. At the dining table the stripe seat cushions compose as a slightly patterned warm-neutral presence at each seating position -- not a color decision but a texture decision, the fine stripes contributing surface interest without tonal contrast.

The stripe version is the most versatile of the three upholstery options. Against warm wood tables and pale walls the near-neutral striped seats integrate without adding a color note, the table arrangement reading as a warm-toned composition where the fabric's stripe is a quiet detail visible at close range. In morning dining room light the stripe pattern catches the directional light as a series of fine relief lines, the alternating tones present as a subtle surface texture. The natural oak frame reads throughout as the chair's primary material presence -- pale, open, light in visual weight.

The stripe fabric's maintenance profile sits between the darker colors and a solid pale: the warm-neutral tone is more forgiving of minor contact marks than solid cream, and the vertical stripe pattern visually absorbs surface variation better than a flat solid. Sold as a set of two. Compact 19.8-inch width matching the other Oli variants throughout.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
