Nine and a half inches taller than the standard Luzon - and those inches change the proportional read entirely. At 55 inches the headboard occupies a genuinely large portion of a bedroom wall, the wheat upholstered field wide and tall enough to approach the presence of architectural paneling. The form is cleaner than the standard wingback: a more restrained rectangular panel, the pale fabric surface extending nearly to the full queen width. The platform base is low and rounded at its corners, softly padded, the four small dark feet the only material break in the pale wheat field that runs from headboard down to floor level.
Wheat at 55 inches of headboard height fills a room differently than the shorter version. This is the bed for a room designed around it - plaster walls, linen textiles, natural fibers - where the headboard reads as the primary material event rather than a contribution to a larger palette. In morning light the 80% polyester / 20% linen blend catches low-angle light across its woven surface; under warm lamp the wheat shifts toward straw and reads unified and still rather than textural. The practical consequence of the tall headboard: artwork, lighting, and any wall treatments above it respond to its height rather than the other way around. It sets the vertical scale of the room. Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
