The oak frame is fully exposed and structurally present. Flat solid oak rails form horizontal arms on each side, the wood extending forward beyond the seat edge and sitting flush with the upholstered arm faces. A low sled base connects the front and rear legs in a continuous flat oak runner on each side, the chair resting on the floor at this base plane rather than on individual legs. Between and inside the oak structure, the back and seat are thick cream faux fur: long, curly, shaggy polyester pile in an off-white that sits close to natural wool in character. The contrast between the smooth warm-toned wood and the dense irregular pile is the whole design argument.
At 29.5 by 36 by 29 inches this sits low and wide, the 29-inch height reading as a reclined lounge position rather than an upright one. The fur texture catches direct light on the pile crowns and goes dense and shadow-dark in the recesses between curls, the surface reading differently from across the room than up close. Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
