Black 5-Drawer Chest with Marble Top (RP-1060-02) by Moe's Home Collection

Black Five-Drawer Chest with Banswara Marble Top and Turned Mango Legs | 40 Inch | Bedroom Chest of Drawers
The marble top earns its position at the head of the design. Banswara marble -- white with soft grey veining -- sits above a black case, the contrast visible from across any bedroom. The case carries five drawers: two shallower drawers side by side across the top row, three full-width drawers below. Each drawer face is framed in black molding with a single circular brass pull centered on the face. The legs are solid mango wood in black, turned with ring details, their profile visible at the base.
The design argument is about surface versus structure. The white marble top is the light element, cool and material-serious at the top of the piece. The black case retreats beneath it, the brass pulls providing warmth that prevents the whole from reading as a void. The turned legs are the detail that separates this from a flat-sided case: they give the chest a formal posture, something between a bedroom storage piece and a drawing room commode. In a room with pale walls the black case recedes into shadow, the marble and brass carrying the visible surface. At 208 lbs two people are required. Some assembly required.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View
Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.
A Design House, Not a Furniture Factory
The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.
Moe's Is Built for PeopleWho Notice the Difference

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
