Description

Warm Black Three-Seat Sofa with Loose Back Cushions | 87 Inch | Sofa

Three seats, three loose back cushions, three seat sections -- the sofa version of the compact armchair form, extended to 86.8 inches. The same low curved arms cap each end; the same slim tapered rubber wood legs carry the body at the four corners. The three loose back cushions run the full back length, their informal quality at sofa scale meaning the piece reads as lived-in from the first day of use rather than needing to break in. Faux feather fill in the cushions contributes the slight softness and settle that makes a deep sofa feel like an invitation rather than a furniture decision.

What 86.8 inches of warm black does to a room: the long dark horizontal becomes the room's primary visual anchor. Against pale walls the warm black sofa holds its end of the room without competing with what's above it. The warm in the colorway -- the brown undertone in the charcoal -- prevents the sofa from reading as stark at this scale. In a room running warm neutrals and natural materials the dark horizontal grounds the palette without shifting the room's warmth register. What to watch for: dark sofa upholstery at 87 inches reads as a deliberate palette decision, not a background element -- the room's other horizontal surfaces need to coordinate rather than compete.

The polyester and top grain leather combination brings durability at the surfaces where sofa upholstery takes the most wear. At 35.8 inches of depth the seat is genuinely generous. At 134 pounds placement is committed but the piece is not immovable with proper handling equipment.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
