85" Dark Brown Sofa (OA-1115-20) by Moe's Home Collection

Dark Brown Faux Mohair Sofa with Rolled Arms and Birch Wood Legs | 85 Inch | Sofa
The rolled arm is the form's signature: each arm curves upward from the seat and rolls forward at the top, the rounded arm surface introducing a gesture at the sofa's ends that a square or sloped arm does not. The roll reads as softer and more considered -- the arm curving toward the room at its peak, the silhouette resolved at each end rather than abruptly terminated. At 84.8 inches the sofa occupies a primary wall position with genuine presence on either side of the arm span.
The faux mohair upholstery is the surface that changes the room's reading. Where flat polyester produces a uniform matte tone, the mohair-style pile catches light directionally -- lighter where the fabric faces the light source, deeper in the recessed areas and shadow sides of the rolled arms. On the arm curves this means the roll reads as dimensionally present in the room: the light catching the top of the curl and falling away into shadow on the inner face. In warm lamplight the dark brown pile develops a visible depth that is absent in flat daylight. The surface reads as material and specific rather than simply colored.
The dark-stained birch legs keep the base tone consistent with the brown upholstery, preventing the legs from reading as a material contrast. Foam and fiber over plywood frame produces a firm-to-medium seat. At 109 pounds manageable for delivery. The rolled arm form belongs equally to rooms running contemporary and traditional palettes -- in a room with dark walls and rich materials it reads as referential and weighted; in a warm, minimal room it reads as the primary material accent at the seating zone.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View
Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.
A Design House, Not a Furniture Factory
The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.
Moe's Is Built for PeopleWho Notice the Difference

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
