Description

Dark Brown Neem Wood Sideboard with Open Shelf | 84 Inch | Sideboard

The open shelf runs the full 84-inch width at the top register -- a horizontal band of accessible storage framed above by the top surface and below by the structural rail, with the back panel visible behind it. Below, four doors in two paired sets close over the lower storage, each door carrying the neem wood grain as its face, with small oval ring pulls at each door pair's meeting edge. Four exposed block corner legs raise the case above the floor and give the base the same structural vocabulary as the nightstand in this series. The grain reads consistently across the full width -- dark brown neem with natural figure variation.

At 84 inches the piece is a committed wall installation. The horizontal open shelf at that scale reads as a full-length display register above the closed cabinet below -- objects and books placed on the shelf read against the back panel at standing height. The visual consequence is a piece that divides its presence into two horizontal zones: open above, closed below, with the structural rail between them as the dividing line. That organization is more interesting than a continuous closed face at this width.

The small oval ring pulls are the only hardware accent in an otherwise uniformly dark wood form -- they read as a small functional detail at close range, visible at the door meeting edges but not from across the room. At 272 pounds placement is a commitment requiring planning and multiple people. In a dining room, living room, or bedroom with sufficient wall length, the full width reads as a considered horizontal anchor rather than an oversize piece.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
