Misaki Sideboard in Black with Faceted Carved Door Texture and Solid Oak Legs
The texture on the Misaki sideboard is not a pattern that sits on the surface. It is the surface. Each of the four door faces is carved with irregular facets, close together and varied in their angles, the overall effect somewhere between weathered stone and fractured terrain. In direct light the facets cast small shadows across themselves, the depth of the carving showing clearly. In the low, raking light of an evening room the carving gains presence without adding color, and the piece reads as something dimensional even in silhouette. The smooth black top and slim solid oak legs sit back from the textured doors by design; neither competes with the carved face.
The Misaki Sideboard from Moe's Home Collection measures 71 inches wide at 17.75 inches deep and 31.5 inches tall. The shallow depth works in dining rooms, entries, and corridors where wall clearance matters. The solid oak legs lift the MDF casing cleanly and keep the footprint from reading as a heavy ground-level box. At 159 lbs the construction is solid across the full span.

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
