The console version of the Bird series carries a different charge than the dining table. At 68 inches wide and 18 inches deep the proportions are built for wall placement, entry, sofa back, or media console, and at that narrower depth the angular iron base reads more concentrated and assertive. On the dining table the same geometry spreads across 38 inches; here it sits beneath a tighter footprint, which pushes the wing-like structure forward visually. The natural solid oak top runs 68 inches of pale warm grain above it.
Behind a sofa the proportions work well and the angular base remains visible from a seated viewing angle, the best angle for it, where the flat planes and sharp geometry show their full complexity. Against a wall it reads more as a surface than a sculpture, the top doing the primary work. The combination of natural oak and black iron shifts across light conditions: in morning light cooler and more spare, in the evening warmer, the iron receding as the wood gains a honey tone. At 131 lbs it holds position without anchoring.

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
