Theo Desk in Natural Solid Oak with an Oval Top and Asymmetric Slab and Pillar Base
The Theo desk handles the storage problem without the visual penalty. The left leg is a full-height slab with open cubbies facing inward toward the seated position, books and objects placed there staying visible and accessible without a door or drawer to interrupt the oak surface. The right leg is a single rounded pillar, solid and clean. The two legs are different, and the difference is earned: the asymmetry serves the working position rather than existing for its own sake. The oval top overhangs both supports and rounds at both ends, which keeps the piece from reading as rectangular despite its 66-inch span.
The Theo Desk from Moe's Home Collection measures 66 inches wide at 24 inches deep and 29 inches tall. The solid oak construction in a natural finish shows the wood's grain across the oval top, the slab leg, and the pillar leg without tonal contrast between the elements. The 24-inch depth provides a full working surface while keeping the footprint from claiming more floor than necessary. At 99 lbs the piece is substantial and stable.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
