Tyrell Desk in Solid Acacia with a Waterfall-Form Construction
The Tyrell desk is built around a single structural idea: the solid acacia top surface flows continuously down into the two slab sides, with no separate legs, no apron, no visible joint where the horizontal plane meets the verticals. The form reads as one continuous piece of material wrapped from side to side, and because it is solid acacia throughout, the grain follows that form around the corners, shifting direction as it transitions from horizontal to vertical. Each piece shows its own range of tonal variation, knots, and figuring. At 60 inches wide the work surface is generous; at 24 inches deep it leaves enough room for a monitor and a clear area in front without projecting too far into the room.
The Tyrell Desk from Moe's Home Collection measures 30 inches tall at 60 inches wide and 24 inches deep. The waterfall construction means there is no underside frame to navigate around and no base to obstruct leg position, the open space below the top fully clear. At 122.32 lbs the solid acacia construction is substantial, the weight distributed across the two full-height side slabs. The natural finish preserves the warm tones and material character of the acacia.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
