Description

Acrylic Felt Painting in Solid Pine Frame | 48 Inch | Wall Art

What felt does differently from canvas: the paint absorbs into the textile fiber rather than forming a film on a stretched surface. The result is soft, diffuse marks with edges that bleed gently at the perimeter rather than terminating cleanly -- a property of the substrate rather than only of the painter's technique. At 48 wide and 60 tall the portrait format gives the piece genuine vertical presence, a 60-inch span reaching close to eye level on most walls. Deep teal and forest green form the dominant layer -- horizontal and atmospheric -- with pale sage and cream passages opening through the composition. Blush pink holds the lower zone. The palette reads as botanical-coastal: green and water and a trace of warmth at the bottom edge.

The matte felt surface changes what daylight does to this piece. No glare from any angle -- the surface absorbs light rather than bouncing it back, which means the piece reads consistently from across the room and at close range, from direct and from the side. In warm lamplight the green deepens and the blush at the lower zone reads as richer and more settled, the palette shifting from cool-leaning in daylight to warmer in the evening. Against plaster, pale linen, or warm white walls the deep teal reads as the room's cool-botanical accent. Against darker materials the pale passages of the composition provide the lighter note.

The thin natural pine frame at the 48-inch width provides a warm wood boundary at the canvas perimeter -- a warm edge that lets the teal-dominant composition read as the room's primary cool accent without reading as cold. At 60 inches tall the piece adds significant vertical emphasis to the wall zone. The 1.77-inch frame depth creates the thin floating shadow line at the perimeter. At 11 pounds hang on appropriately-rated wall hardware.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
