Description

Acrylic Canvas Painting in Solid Pine Frame | 40 Inch | Wall Art

The landscape format -- wider than tall, at 40 inches across and 30 inches high -- reads as horizontal extension rather than vertical presence at the wall. This is the orientation that adds visual width to the wall zone, the eye traveling across rather than upward. The composition is an earth-tone abstract landscape: a pale serpentine form moving through the canvas from foreground to middle ground, bounded by dark charcoal and warm ochre forms on either side. The palette is warm and geological -- cream, pale sand, dark charcoal, burnt sienna, taupe -- the kind of palette that belongs to rooms running warm neutrals, plaster, and natural stone.

The dark-stained pine frame is the material distinction from the natural-pine members of this family. Where a light pine frame recedes at the canvas edge, the dark frame provides a grounding perimeter -- making the pale passages in the composition read as brighter and more open against the deep border. In warm lamplight the dark frame nearly disappears into the wall at the edge, the composition appearing to float in shadow. The canvas surface develops its slight acrylic sheen at close viewing distance, the painted marks reading as a live, textured object rather than a flat field.

The landscape format at 40 by 30 reads well above a console or sideboard where the furniture's horizontal span echoes the canvas's horizontal proportion. In a gallery arrangement it provides the grounding horizontal element against taller portrait pieces. The earth-tone palette occupies the warm end of the neutral range -- integrating with wood, stone, plaster, and leather without requiring the room to run cooler or more saturated. At 5.9 pounds the piece hangs on standard single-hook hardware.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
