The natural acacia version of the Bradbury sphere reads as an entirely different design proposition from the black version - not because the form has changed, but because the material doing the work is exposed rather than absorbed. The full sphere base in solid acacia shows the grain, the knots, and the visible panel construction across the curved surface: sections of acacia fitted together into a sphere, the joins present, the grain shifting direction across each face. The warm golden-brown fills a room differently than the dark graphic mass of the black colorway. The black Bradbury reads as a sculptural object; the natural reads as a craft object.
At 35.5 inches in diameter the compact footprint keeps the piece from consuming floor area while the sphere base gives it visual weight well above what the footprint suggests. The round disc top overhangs the sphere on all sides - the top appears to float past the base, which is the design logic regardless of colorway or size. In natural acacia the shift with light conditions is significant: morning light pulls the grain pale and golden; evening lamp deepens it toward amber, the sphere face reading more dimensional as the angle drops and the panel joins cast narrow shadow lines across the curved surface. Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
