28" Dark Brown Nightstand (FC-1023-03) by Moe's Home Collection

Dark Brown Walnut Nightstand with Travertine Top | 24 Inch | Nightstand
The material pairing is specific and intentional: a dark walnut case -- walnut veneer over MDF with a solid walnut edge that creates a pronounced warm-dark border around every face -- carries a travertine stone top surface in a pale warm tone. At the bedside the travertine top reads as the nightstand's light element above the dark walnut case, the stone's characteristic natural patterning visible as a quiet organic variation across the surface. The solid walnut edge is the pairing's detail: the pronounced dark wood frame around the case faces gives the piece a resolved, material-honest quality at close range, the solid wood edge differentiating this from a simple veneer box.
In morning bedroom light the travertine top reads as a pale, slightly luminous surface against the dark walnut case -- the two materials in clear tonal contrast at the bedside position. The stone surface catches the morning's directional light with a matte, mineral quality that wood or laminate would not produce. In warm lamplight the dark walnut deepens toward near-espresso, the travertine maintaining its pale tone above it, the nightstand reading as a composed warm-dark form with a settled, stone-top surface.
The travertine top is appropriate for standard bedside use -- lamp, books, a water glass. Stone surfaces benefit from a coaster under glasses to prevent mineral staining over time; the travertine's natural patterning means minor marks read less visibly than on a flat pale surface. At 27.5 wide and 24.4 high the nightstand accommodates both queen and king bed positions without competing with the bed's visual weight. The walnut veneer construction reads in the piece's weight and in the quality of the veneer grain across the drawer face.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View
Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.
A Design House, Not a Furniture Factory
The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.
Moe's Is Built for PeopleWho Notice the Difference

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
