Osamu Nightstand in Solid Walnut with a Finger-Pull Drawer and Open Lower Cubby
The Osamu nightstand works as a study in what walnut does when given enough surface area to speak. The casing shows the grain across the drawer face, the side panels, and the top, the characteristic dark ribbon figure of walnut moving across the whole piece in tonal shifts from warm brown to near-black. The drawer pulls by a sculpted notch cut into its upper edge, no hardware to interrupt the surface. Below it, the open cubby reads as a visual void against the richness of the surrounding wood. The rounded corners of the casing soften what is otherwise a direct rectangular form, and the short rounded feet lift the piece just enough to let light pass beneath it.
The Osamu Nightstand from Moe's Home Collection stands 24 inches tall at 17 inches wide and 15 inches deep. The compact footprint works beside most beds without dominating the nightstand space, and the 24-inch height sits at a useful relation to standard bed heights. Construction combines solid walnut with walnut veneer and MDF. At 28.6 lbs the piece has real substance for its size.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
