Taupe Swivel Chair with Wood Plinth Base (KQ-1029-39-USA) by Moe's Home Collection

Soft Taupe Swivel Chair with Wood Plinth Base | 33 Inch | Swivel Chair
Same form as the other versions in this series on the flat natural wood plinth swivel base, in soft taupe where the warm brown-grey tone reads as neutral while still having enough warmth to connect to surrounding wood and natural materials. The soft taupe is the version that disappears most easily into a considered room -- it neither contributes a color note nor reads as simply off-white. Against a pale wall it reads as a slightly warmer version of the room's base tone; against dark materials it reads as the warm mid-tone occupying the space between them.
The wood plinth base reads most legibly in contrast to this finish because the tonal values are relatively close -- warm brown base, warm grey-brown upholstery above -- and the material difference between smooth wood and woven fabric becomes the piece's primary visual interest at close range. That quality makes the taupe version the one most dependent on the rest of the room's material composition for its interest; in a room with varied textures and depths, the soft taupe chair joins the arrangement seamlessly. In a plain or underdeveloped room it may read as too recessive to carry its visual weight.
At 62 pounds and 33 by 34 by 28.35 inches the practical characteristics are identical to the other versions in the series. The 95% polyester, 5% nylon upholstery in this colorway is a slight variation from the 100% polyester of some other finishes -- the nylon addition increases the material's durability and resistance to abrasion at high-contact zones.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View
Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.
A Design House, Not a Furniture Factory
The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.
Moe's Is Built for PeopleWho Notice the Difference

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
