Description

Tan Leather Accent Chair with Walnut Frame | 29 Inch | Accent Chair

Same form as the dark brown version -- the exposed walnut posts and rails, the webbing-suspended seat cushion, the floating back panel -- in warm cognac tan leather. Where the dark brown finish introduces a slight temperature contrast between cool leather and warm wood, the tan reads as tonal harmony: both materials are warm and close in value, and the chair composes as a unified warm register. The walnut grain and the cognac leather relate naturally; the eye moves between them without catching a contrast edge.

In a room with other warm materials -- oak floors, linen upholstery, brass or bronze fixtures -- the tan version sits within the palette without asserting itself as the room's interesting detail. It doesn't introduce a new temperature note, only adds another warm surface at a different material and scale. That quietness is the right quality when the room already has presence and the chair needs to contribute without competing.

The practical characteristics are identical to the dark brown version -- same 29 by 33 by 35 inch footprint, same 34.7 pounds, same walnut frame with webbing seat suspension. Top grain leather in tan will develop a gentle patina at the arm surfaces and headrest zone over time; the aging in this lighter color is more visible than in the dark version and will eventually read as a deliberate material quality rather than simply use.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
