The Oli form at counter height, in the stripe seat version. Same natural pale oak frame -- clean four-leg structure with horizontal footrest stretcher, the exposed horizontal back rails above the seat -- with the ticking-style vertical stripe upholstered seat cushion scaled for a 36-inch counter or island. The stripe fabric reads from across the kitchen as a warm near-neutral: fine alternating vertical lines in cream and pale neutral, the pattern visible as a surface texture at the counter zone rather than as a color note. Against pale oak cabinetry or a warm wood island surface the stripe seats read as a resolved, slightly textured warm-neutral presence -- not a pattern decision but a material detail.
The pale oak frame reads at its most luminous in morning kitchen light, the natural grain open across the legs and back rails, the stripe seat below the airy back structure in clear but quiet contrast. In warm kitchen lamplight the oak develops a slight honey warmth, the near-neutral stripe seat maintaining its calm reading throughout. The back rail structure remains visible above the counter plane from the room's primary viewpoint -- a minimal linear form in pale wood above the stripe cushion, contributing warmth without mass.
The stripe seat's maintenance profile sits between the cream and the darker colors: the warm-neutral tone absorbs minor marks better than a solid pale, and the vertical stripe pattern helps visually. The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
