Description

Slated Moss Swivel Chair with Wood Plinth Base | 33 Inch | Swivel Chair

Same form as the soft beige version in this series -- flat natural wood plinth swivel base, separate back cushion within the back frame, seat cushion, sloped arms -- in slated moss where the specific grey-green tone introduces a deliberate color note rather than receding into the room's neutral register. The slated moss connects to the warm wood base by proximity rather than matching: the cool green above the warm wood reads as a composed material contrast, each tone making the other more legible. Against pale walls the colour reads as the room's primary accent at this compact footprint; in a room with other organic tones it joins as a peer.

The practical advantage of this chair is the swivel base in combination with its compact dimensions. At 33 by 34 inches it occupies less floor area than a standard armchair while the swivel function allows it to orient toward a fireplace, window, or conversation partner without being moved. The flat wood plinth base remains the same light natural tone across all colorways -- it is the consistent material element that grounds the form and connects to other wood in the room regardless of what fabric sits above it.

At 62 pounds the chair rotates without effort on its swivel mechanism. The high-density foam seat and back provide a more structured sitting experience than a full feather-fill chair -- the back cushion has enough support for extended sitting without requiring the sitter to adjust position frequently. In a room where slated moss reads as a considered choice rather than an incidental color, this chair earns its position in the arrangement.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
