Description

Sage Upholstered Dining Chair with Thick Oak Panel Frame | 32 Inch | Dining Chair

The same architectural oak panel frame vocabulary as the accent chair version -- thick flat oak panels on each side, arched cutout at the base creating integrated feet from the same wood mass -- scaled to dining chair proportions. At the table the oak sides read as warm natural-wood structural elements on either side of the sage upholstered seat and back, the panel form giving each chair a presence at the table that conventional leg-and-arm dining chairs do not produce. The arched base cutout is visible below the seat from every angle, the solid oak reading as a continuous material decision from floor to arm height on each side of the upholstered form.

The sage polyester in the dining context integrates. Against a warm oak dining table the sage fabric occupies a muted earthy range that belongs to the table's tonal family without competing. Against a dark walnut table the sage provides a gentle organic counter-tone. The back cushion sits within the oak panel frame; the seat rests between the panels. Both elements visible from the seated position as the chair's material composition -- warm wood structure, muted green upholstery, the two materials resolving as a considered pairing.

At 25.63 inches wide the dining footprint is moderate -- compact enough to accommodate six chairs at a table without crowding the seating positions, substantial enough that each chair reads as a designed object rather than an anonymous seat. In warm dining lamplight the natural oak panels develop honey warmth against the muted sage, the upholstery settling into the room's warm-light reading as a quiet, composed material note. The polyester upholstery wipes clean efficiently; the oak frame should be maintained with a light wood-care product.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
