Description

Natural Oak Spindle-Back Dining Chair Set of Two | 19 Inch | Dining Chair

The spindle back is one of the oldest chair forms in furniture history, and the reason it keeps reappearing is that it works: a curved top rail, vertical spindles fanning slightly toward it, a shaped seat below, four angled legs. In natural honey oak, the form reads light, warm, and completely resolved. There's nothing extra here. The spindles are thin enough that the chair doesn't block the room behind it, and the angled legs give the silhouette a slight dynamic quality when seen from the side.

At 11 pounds per chair, these are light enough to rearrange around a table without effort -- a practical quality that matters more in daily dining use than most specifications suggest. The seat has a slight shaping that improves on a flat surface, and the back's gentle sweep follows the natural angle of a seated back without requiring cushioning. Solid wood dining chairs require no maintenance beyond occasional cleaning and last considerably longer than upholstered alternatives.

The set of two pairs naturally with the slab-base dining table from the same collection -- both in natural oak, both with the same clean Scandinavian construction language. But the spindle-back chair works equally well alongside a darker or mixed-material table where the light oak adds a warm contrast note. Two is the right starting point, combinable to six or eight for larger arrangements.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
