Description

Dark Green Upholstered Seat Counter Stool with Oak Rail Back and Natural Frame | 36 Inch | Counter Stool

The Oli form at counter height: the same natural pale oak frame -- clean four-leg structure with horizontal stretchers for foot support, the same exposed wood back rails above the seat -- with a dark forest green upholstered seat cushion scaled for a 36-inch counter or island surface. At the kitchen island this stool reads as a minimal, warm-material form: the pale oak frame light and open against kitchen cabinetry, the dark green seat providing an earthy color note at the counter zone without asserting a decorative decision. The oak back rails are visible from the room's primary viewpoint as a clean linear structure above the island surface plane -- open and airy, the back contributing visual weight without enclosing the seating position.

In morning kitchen light the pale oak frame reads at its most luminous, the natural grain open and clear on the legs and back rails, the dark green seat in settled contrast below the exposed back structure. In warm kitchen light the oak develops a slight honey warmth, the green seat maintaining its earthy reading as the kitchen's lamplight atmosphere settles. The stretcher at foot level is at the appropriate height for the extended leg position at counter use, the structural horizontal providing a consistent foot support for extended sitting.

At 19.8 inches wide the stool is compact at the counter position -- slightly wider than a backless island stool but still permitting three at a medium island without crowding. The back rail structure provides support without the visual mass of a fully upholstered back, keeping the counter zone reading as open even with the full complement of stools in place. The dark green polyester wipes clean efficiently. Sold individually.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
