Description

Dark Brown Upholstered Corner Seat Module with Oak Veneer Platform Base | 40 Inch | Accent Chair

The corner module is the 90-degree joining piece of the June modular seating system -- the 40 by 40 inch square seat that connects two runs of seating at a corner turn. As a standalone piece it reads as an unusually deep, square, low accent seat; in a modular configuration it provides the corner position where two sofa sections meet. The oak veneer platform base runs low and continuous at the floor -- the upholstered volume sitting above the broad wood plinth, the base providing a warm material border at the floor line. No arms; the seat is a deep, open cushioned platform.

The seat and back cushions are individual and loose -- the back cushions resting against the back panel rather than fixed, providing adjustability at the recline position. Feather, foam, and fiber fill produces the generous cushion depth that settles with the sitter rather than holding a fixed shape. The dark brown polyester upholstery reads as a warm, settled tone -- the brown in the range between mocha and umber, warm and grounded at the seating level. In warm lamplight the dark tone reads as richer and more present, the brown developing warmth at the cushion surface.

At 40 by 40 the corner module occupies a significant seating zone footprint. As a standalone piece it reads as an oversized accent seat -- the depth at 40 inches placing it closer to lounge-chair than conventional accent-chair territory. The oak veneer base reads as a warm, horizontal material element at the floor, the wood grain visible at the edge and contributing a natural material note to the upholstered form above. At 83.8 pounds the piece is a committed placement rather than a frequently repositioned one.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
