Description

Dark Brown Acacia Nightstand with Live-Edge Drawer and Open Shelves | 22 Inch | Nightstand

A rectangular dark acacia box on four angled iron legs: open shelf above the drawer, a live-edge acacia drawer at center with its natural seam running the full width of the face, open shelf below. The drawer front is the material signature -- a dark acacia piece with its natural irregular edge visible as a horizontal mark across the drawer face, the same seam character as the headboard in this series. No knob, no pull handle, just wood and a visible live edge.

At 21.5 by 16 by 22 inches the nightstand is compact. The two open shelves hold visible objects -- a glass, a book, a phone -- and the live-edge drawer handles closed storage. Placed beside the bed in this series, the drawer front reads as a small version of the headboard's defining material moment: the same rippled seam, the same dark acacia grain, the same angled iron legs at each corner. At 59.8 lbs it moves with one person.

The Madagascar Nightstand from Moe's Home Collection measures 21.5 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 22 inches tall. Dark brown acacia wood and iron construction. At 59.8 lbs it moves with one person.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
