The arms are the design. Not armrests in the conventional sense -- these are thick rounded bolsters, substantially wider than the seat, that arc slightly upward and give the chair its defining silhouette from every angle. From the front you see two pale rounded forms flanking the back cushion; from the side the arm's depth reads as nearly equal to the back's height. The cream polyester wraps everything in one continuous surface -- back, seat, and arms all the same tone -- which gives the form a cloud-like visual unity that breaks only at the base.
The base is the counter-argument: a solid flat slab of rubber wood, warm honey in tone, rectangular and definite. It lifts the chair minimally off the floor and keeps the whole composition reading low. The contrast between the swelling soft upholstery mass above and the hard flat wood slab below is the whole design. Neither element alone would be particularly interesting. Together they make a case for each other.

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
