Burgundy Upholstered Office Chair (MU-1003-22) by Moe's Home Collection

Burgundy Upholstered Block Office Chair with Chrome Caster Base | 35 Inch | Office Chair
What makes this form unusual at a desk is its refusal of typical task chair vocabulary. Where most office chairs assert their function -- mesh backs, lumbar protrusions, visible mechanisms at every angle -- this one is a composed upholstered block. The same cubic sensibility as the accent chair family: boxy proportions, upholstered surfaces without visible structural interruption, the seat and back reading as a unified fabric volume. Beneath that, the five-star chrome caster base -- the single point where functional office chair requirements are unavoidable and present, visible as a clean star of polished metal below the upholstered form.
The burgundy polyester reads at a pale wood or stone-top desk as the seating zone's one warm color note. The chrome base introduces a cool, hard material at floor level, sitting in clear contrast against the warm upholstery above. In morning desk light the chrome catches direction; the upholstered cube above it remains its own warm-fabric presence. In warm task lamp light the burgundy deepens toward its richest reading, the chrome base holding its cool neutral below. At 26 inches wide the chair is compact -- it sits at the desk without consuming the visual space a larger executive chair would command.
The chair's resolution is specific: it reads like a considered furniture piece from across the room, not like a task tool parked at a table. The height-adjustable mechanism provides the necessary practical range while the upholstered cube form keeps the mechanical reality below the visual register. The polyester fabric cleans efficiently with a damp cloth -- a practical asset for a chair that sees daily use at a working surface.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View
Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.
A Design House, Not a Furniture Factory
The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
