Description

Dark Brown Top Grain Leather Armless Dining Chair with Vertical Channels and Oak Legs | 34 Inch | Dining Chair

The vertical channel tufting runs from the top of the slightly tapered back down through the seat, the narrow parallel channels giving the dark brown top grain leather a structured, tailored quality. No arms -- the silhouette is clean and linear from the front, the leather back widening gently from the base to the top and the solid oak legs splayed slightly at the base providing the structural warmth that the dark leather surface needs. Two chairs per order.

What vertical channel tufting does to leather at a dining chair: it introduces a surface depth that flat leather cannot provide, the shadows in the channel recesses reading as linear texture from across the room. In dark brown top grain leather the channels read as shadow lines against the already dark surface -- visible up close, subtle from a distance -- and in warm evening light the leather surfaces catch the glow between the raised channel bands. Top grain leather develops a patina with use: the surface deepens and the channels' edges soften over time, the chair reading as richer at year three than at year one.

The solid oak legs in their warm medium-brown finish provide the natural material contrast that grounds the dark leather above. Against a dark timber dining table the warm oak legs read as the lighter material note at the base; against a light oak or marble table the dark leather back reads as the table's deliberate contrast at the seat level. At 19.7 inches wide the narrow footprint sits close at a table without crowding, and at 17.8 pounds for the set the chairs move easily for cleaning or rearranging.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
