Description

Heritage Clay Sculptural Sofa with Rounded Tubular Arms and Arched Upholstered Base | 85 Inch | Sofa

Same form as the oat version -- massive tubular rounded arms at each end, cylindrical bolster pillows at the arm junctions, two back cushions running the full width, arched upholstered base with no legs, 85 by 36 at 31.5 high -- in heritage clay. The colorway reads not as pink in any conventional sense but as a warm, deeply muted clay-rose: the tone sitting at the boundary between dusty terracotta and warm rose, with enough grey in the undertone to read as earthy rather than sweet. The soft chenille-adjacent polyester deepens the warm clay quality.

The heritage clay in this sculptural form changes the room calculation. Where the oat version reads as a neutral-ground sculpture that lets the form itself carry the visual interest, the clay-rose reads as a warm color decision at the seating zone. Against warm plaster, terracotta tile, raw timber, or natural linen the tone belongs to the same organic palette -- deep, warm, earthy. Against pale cool walls it reads as the room's primary warm anchor at the seating position. The rounded arms and arched base catch light in their curved surfaces, and in warm lamplight the shadows in the curves deepen, reading as richer and more dimensional in the warm clay tone than they would in a paler colorway.

At 85 inches this sculptural form in a warm clay is a primary room decision -- the sofa sets the bedroom's or living room's palette temperature from the moment it occupies the primary wall. The arched upholstered base and the cylindrical arm forms read identically in any colorway, but the heritage clay tone makes the rounded surfaces read as warmer and more saturated with depth at both ends. At 136 pounds placement is committed before delivery.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
