Description

Natural White Oak Writing Desk with Angled Iron Legs and Center Drawer | 63 Inch | Home Office Desk

The oak surface is pale and calm - fine, consistent grain across the full 63-inch width, the natural finish keeping the wood close to its unaltered state. A single centered drawer sits flush in the front apron, providing practical storage without breaking the clean horizontal read of the surface. Below it two angled black iron leg sets splay backward in a V-kick from their attachment point to a flat base plate at the floor - the geometry gives the base both visual lightness and structural stability without requiring stretchers or additional hardware visible from the front.

At 26 inches deep this desk fits against a wall without projecting significantly into the room, and the 29.5-inch height is standard working height. The material contrast between the pale oak surface and the black iron base is the quieter version of this combination - the oak does not compete with the iron, and the iron does not overpower the wood. In an office or study that carries other natural wood tones this desk reads as a continuation of the palette. In a room built around cooler or more minimal materials, the warmth of the white oak becomes the main material note. At 99 lbs it assembles and repositions with one person. Some assembly required.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
