Description

Brown Oak Round Side Table with Fluted Edge and Cylinder Pedestal | 22 Inch | Side Table

Same design family as the round coffee table -- fluted-edge round top in warm brown oak veneer, cylindrical pedestal base -- at side table scale. At 22 inches of diameter the proportions shift: the single cylinder pedestal is narrower relative to the top, and the overall form reads more sculptural than architectural. From the front it profiles as a wide fluted disc floating above a clean cylinder -- a mushroom form that holds its presence at the seated eye level beside a sofa or lounge chair.

What the fluted edge does at this smaller diameter: the ribbing is proportionally more present at 22 inches than on the larger coffee table top. The vertical channels run the full perimeter of the disc, catching oblique light from lamps and windows. In warm evening light the shadow in each channel deepens and the fluting reads as the table's most active surface detail -- the flat top and smooth pedestal providing a quiet contrast to the perimeter's texture.

At 22 inches tall it sits at the upper range of standard side table height, which works beside a generously seated sofa or a higher lounge chair. The oak veneer is continuous across top and pedestal, the grain reading as a single warm-brown material object. The common mistake with cylinder-pedestal tables is placing them against leg-heavy furniture where the legless base reads as anomalous; this form belongs in rooms where the base reads as a considered decision rather than an exception.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
