Description

Light Blue Skirted Storage Ottoman | 18 Inch | Storage Ottoman

Same gathered-skirt form and lift-top storage configuration -- the pleated fabric skirt running from the top edge to the floor, the rounded top cushion, the plywood base invisible behind the gathered fabric -- in a light blue polyester. The light blue tone is a quiet, slightly dusty pale blue -- closer to the grey-blue end of the range than to a vivid sky tone, the color reading as calm and integrated rather than as a statement. At a bedroom chair or window position the light blue ottoman occupies a cool note against warm wood and natural fiber materials, providing a gentle tonal contrast that reads as a considered, room-quiet choice rather than a color decision.

The gathered skirt in light blue creates the same full, rounded silhouette at floor level that characterizes the series: the fabric pleated in fine folds, the vertical fall of the skirt giving the form its composed, slightly domestic character at the room's floor zone. In morning light the pale blue reads as a fresh, open material note at the seating position; in warm lamplight the dusty blue tone settles toward a slightly warmer reading, the gathered skirt maintaining its soft, full silhouette. The storage lid lifts to reveal the interior, the fabric running continuously across the hinged seam at the top edge.

At 20 by 20 and 18.5 inches high the scale matches the other versions in the series -- a compact, useful form appropriate for footrest, additional seat, or bedroom storage duties. The polyester fabric spot-cleans with a damp cloth. The plywood frame provides solid understructure for seating use.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
