Description

Clear Cast Glass Square Side Table with Faceted Legs | 19 Inch | Side Table

Cast glass is not the same material as glass furniture typically is. At 42.1 pounds for a 19-inch square table, the weight communicates the density of the cast form -- this is solid material, not a glass-topped frame. The top surface has the slightly hazy, slightly thick quality of cast rather than float glass: not fully transparent, not opaque, but a lightly diffused plane that the eye reads as simultaneously light and substantial. The four legs are faceted, each face catching light at a slightly different angle, so the legs scatter rather than simply transmit -- they read as prismatic at close range and as four clear vertical elements from a standing distance.

The table reads differently as light changes. In direct daylight the glass carries a cool neutrality and the faceted legs refract the room around them. In evening lamplight the top surface catches and holds the warmth in a way a metal or stone top doesn't; the glass becomes slightly luminous rather than simply reflective. That shift -- from cool and neutral to quietly warm -- is the material's behavioral range, and it's worth placing the table where both conditions occur over the course of a day.

At 19 by 19 by 20 inches the table functions as a side table or occasional table beside a sofa or chair. The 20-inch height sits below most sofa arm heights, which makes it accessible rather than competing. In a room where all other surfaces are solid and opaque, the cast glass introduces the only transparent element and reads as a deliberately light counterpoint to heavier surrounding materials.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
