Description

Olive Green Side Table with Round Column Base | 18 Inch | Side Table

The form is a single gesture: a rounded-square top with heavily chamfered edges floating above a cylindrical column base. Everything is in the same warm olive green -- a lacquered MDF finish that has depth and luminosity to it, the surface catching light with a slight glow rather than absorbing it flatly. The top reads almost like a large rounded button, the column below it narrower than the top on all sides, the overhang creating a small shadow line around the column's circumference. In silhouette the piece reads as a mushroom form -- primitive, specific, quietly sculptural.

At 16 by 16 inches and 18 inches tall the proportions are compact and versatile: the right height beside a chair or low sofa, the right footprint for a position without much floor room. The olive green is warm rather than cool -- closer to moss than to a plant-adjacent bright -- and in a room with other earth tones and natural materials it reads as a grounded color accent rather than a jarring one. In a room with predominantly natural materials and no other color the olive green table at floor level introduces the room's one warm tonal note.

This is not a piece pretending to be natural material. The lacquered surface is the piece's honest register, and the rounded form in warm olive green is the kind of object that earns its place by being specific rather than neutral. At 17.9 pounds it moves easily and can be repositioned without commitment.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
