White Cotton Conical Pendant Lamp with Steel Rod | 16 Inch | Pendant Light
The pendant version of the conical shade form -- the same crisp white cotton cone, now hanging from a slim dark steel rod on a small black canopy. Where the floor lamp carries its cone at standing height, the pendant positions the same geometry at the ceiling, creating a downward focal point overhead. The shade reads as a precise white triangle pointing into the room; the dark rod above it thins to near-invisible at the canopy. From below the open base is visible: the cotton edge glowing warmly, the light source centered in the cone.
At 16 inches wide the pendant is sized correctly for a single position -- over a side table, above a reading chair, at a kitchen counter accent position, or grouped in an odd number for an emphatic ceiling arrangement. The form does not attempt to do more than one thing well. The one thing it does -- focused directional light through a clean geometric shade -- it does without qualification, and that economy of purpose is what makes it compatible with rooms that are already saying something.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
