16" Dark Brown Side Table (PJ-1026-20) by Moe's Home Collection

Dark Brown Mango Wood Side Table with Faceted Sculptural Base | 20 Inch | Side Table
The base is carved from solid mango wood into a multi-faceted geometric form -- each face cut at a different angle to create a gem-cut or crystal-cut appearance, the volume wider at the mid-section and tapering toward the floor and toward the round top. Every facet reads as its own flat surface at a unique angle, catching light independently from the adjacent faces. A round flat top disk surfaces the piece above the carved base. At 16 wide and 20 high the table reads as a wood sculpture at the accent position, the form's carved geometry visible and legible from the seating level.
What the faceted carving does to the room: it introduces craftsmanship and geometric specificity at a scale where most side tables provide only utility. Each flat facet catches light at its own angle -- in direct daylight the lighter-facing surfaces read against the deeper shadow faces, making the geometry clear and dimensional. In warm lamplight the dark brown mango develops warmth across the facets, the grain visible within each face at a different orientation, the piece reading as rich and settled at the side table position. The dark brown finish deepens the mango wood's natural grain to a warm chocolate-brown tone.
Mango wood is a tropical hardwood with a tight, warm grain that takes stain well. The round top at 16 inches holds a small lamp, a plant, or a glass cleanly. The faceted carved base is best seen where the full silhouette is visible -- beside a chair or sofa end where the geometry is readable from the seating position. Placing it flush against a wall removes half the sculptural reading. Weight not listed. The form rewards a room position where all four visible sides can be appreciated rather than one face pressed into a corner.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View
Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.
That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.
A Design House, Not a Furniture Factory
The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.
Moe's Is Built for PeopleWho Notice the Difference

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
