Description

Navy Blue Fluted Concrete Accent Table | 18 Inch | Accent Table

Same fluted column form -- fiber reinforced concrete, flat working top, deep vertical channels running floor to crown -- in navy blue. The navy reads as a deep, resolved cool blue: fully saturated, closer to midnight than to a bright classic navy, the concrete surface carrying the pigment with a matte finish that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. Against warm wood floors, natural fiber rugs, and pale plaster walls the navy concrete reads as the room's most deliberately cool material note at low level -- a small, dense color object that provides tonal counterpoint to an otherwise warm-neutral room without requiring any additional blue in the surrounding scheme.

The flutes in the navy concrete read as a tonal range within the blue itself: the ridges catch directional light as a slightly lighter navy, the channels settling toward near-dark. In morning light the contrast within the fluted form is at its steepest -- the ridge-to-channel gradient visible as fine vertical striations in the cooler light. In warm lamplight the navy deepens further toward midnight in the channels, the ridges holding their blue reading against the ambient warm tone, the effect subtler and more atmospheric than the daylight reading. The piece behaves differently across the day's light changes than the white version does, the dark pigment registering a wider tonal arc between morning and evening.

At 42 pounds for a 15-inch square footprint the piece has the same architectural weight as the rest of the series. The navy suits rooms where one cool element is the design goal -- a single concrete accent with a decisive color that neither competes for visual dominance nor disappears into the room's warm ground. One piece, properly positioned, is enough. Two reads as a decision; three reads as a collection.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
