Description

Light Brown Upholstered Chair with Wide Block Arms | 30 Inch | Accent Chair

The form's defining decision is the arm scale. Where most upholstered armchairs hold the arms as slender horizontal rails, here they are thick -- each arm nearly as wide as it is tall, a substantial upholstered mass on either side of the seat that slopes gently toward the front. From the front the chair reads as a wide generous rectangle with the arms providing most of the visual width. The back is a single rounded pad, soft at the top edge, integrated into the body rather than standing tall above the armrests. Small block feet at the four corners carry dark piping trim -- a composed base detail that reads as intentional at close range.

In light brown the warm caramel tone deepens in lamplight toward a richer amber register. The arm width changes how the chair functions as a room object: with arms this substantial you do not perch, you settle. At a sofa group it reads as a generous companion at the same material tone. On its own against a wall it reads as a composed soft object with a clear design point of view.

At 35.4 by 33.8 inches the footprint is compact despite the wide arm profile -- the body depth is reasonable and the chair does not claim more floor space than its sitting position requires. At 60.9 pounds it stays put. Foam and fiber fill means the seat and back hold their shape over time without requiring regular plumping.

Moe's Home Collection:Forty Years of Furniture With a Point of View

Some brands earn trust loudly. Moe's has never needed to. The evidence shows up in rooms, season after season, in pieces that end up feeling more considered than their owners quite anticipated. More grounded. More alive.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone decided, a long time ago, that material and craft were worth the extra conversation, and never really stopped having it.

The Pieces Feel Found - Not Simply Bought

The Origin

A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.

In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.

His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.

The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft

Material First - Trend Second

Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.

The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.

The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.

- Moe's does not source furniture. It curates it.
