Wilde Display Cabinet in Black Oak with an Arched Crown and Open Shelves
The arch is the whole argument. The casing rises to a semicircular crown at the top, and that arch frames the open shelves above and sets the upper display section apart from the closed lower cabinet. In black oak the grain presses through the finish with enough presence to identify the material without competing with what sits on the shelves. The wood reads as structured and deliberate, not raw. The open shelves allow the back panel to become part of the display: whatever is placed there works against the dark grain rather than against a painted wall, which changes the character of almost anything shown against it.
The lower section holds two flat-panel doors that contain the base of the piece and ground its proportion. The upper arch reads as open and light; the lower case reads as resolved and closed. Together they create a balance between display and concealment that a standard rectangular bookcase does not offer. A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
