The form tapers from wide at the rim to a narrow circular foot -- a conical vessel shape with vertical fluting running the full height. The flutes are the design: evenly spaced channels that run from base to top, each creating a ridge and shadow line that repeats around the entire circumference. In still light the surface reads as a pattern of alternating light and dark verticals; as light shifts across it the shadows move and the form reads as genuinely dimensional. A smooth surface of the same shape and material would read as a simple vase. This one reads as architecture at object scale.
The aged pewter finish is cool and slightly varied -- not a uniform grey but a surface with patina differentiation, darker in the shadow of the channels and lighter along the ridges. It reads as silver-grey from a distance and reveals its tonal complexity up close. At 13 by 6 by 15 inches this is a substantial vase with real presence on a surface -- not a small accent piece but an object that holds its weight in a composition.
In a room with warm materials it introduces a cool metallic note without reading as industrial. The fluting gives it a historical gravity that contemporary ceramic vases don't have. The Origin
A Family That BuiltSomething From Nothing
Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
