The form is a single continuous surface in charcoal grey ecomix -- a stone-composite material that reads as dense and matte at close range and as a cool dark grey from across the room. The shape is biomorphic and figure-adjacent: a rounded, slightly hunched volume with curved lobes, two through-openings of different sizes, and a self-contained base that requires no separate stand. The form sits on its own footprint. Nothing is decorative; the whole object is the composition.
In charcoal the material reads as neither warm nor cold in isolation -- it acquires its temperature reading from what surrounds it. Against warm wood surfaces it reads as a cool counterpoint; against a pale plaster wall it reads as a grounded dark object. The matte finish prevents it from catching highlights and gives the surface an even, almost mineral quality. That flatness means the form's interest comes entirely from its three-dimensional mass -- the lobes, the through-spaces, the way the surface transitions from one curve to the next -- rather than from any surface effect.

Moe Samieian Sr. arrived in Canada with an engineering degree and almost nowhere to use it. So he sold rugs at road shows, worked on commission, and learned the retail floor through years of direct customer contact.
In 1986 he opened his first store in Vancouver. Walking the trade shows, he kept noticing the same thing: most furniture looked identical. So he started hunting for pieces with something to say. Antiques. Flea-market finds. Objects with texture and history. More stores followed, and in 1999 he moved decisively into wholesale.
His children Sara and Moe Jr. carried that instinct forward. Not what merely sells. What resonates. That distinction still drives every collection.
The materials earn their place. Wood warms the edges. Stone steadies the eye. Steel adds tension. Glass lets the composition breathe. A hand-worked surface keeps a modern room from feeling too resolved.
The goal was never perfection. It was presence.

The Craft
Material First - Trend Second
Every collection is designed in-house, then built through a manufacturing network developed over decades. Vietnam, India, Italy, Poland, Canada, the USA. Not the lowest-cost option in any of those places. Long-term makers who've been held to the same standards long enough that the standards stopped needing to be explained.
The construction is what you'd expect from that kind of relationship. Solid hardwood frames. High-density foam. Hardware that doesn't announce itself by failing early. These are not selling points so much as baseline expectations that a lot of furniture quietly fails to meet.
The materials go further than that. Acacia grain that no engineered surface comes close to replicating. Stone that grounds a room both visually and physically, which are different things and both matter. Mixed metals chosen for tension rather than coordination. FSC-certified wood and responsible sourcing throughout, though the more honest argument for it shows up over time, in how the pieces age rather than what the spec sheet says.
